EXAMPLESFlorida has different landforms, unlike many other states though, it doesn't have mountains or large hills. Florida has many beautiful coastlines, rivers, lakes, sand dunes, ect. Glaciers are only located in cold areas so they maintain there icey material.
When at a beach in Florida, you will most likely only see coastlines and sand dunes. But at a beach in California, you may also see mountains off in the distance as well. |
Vocabulary
Landform: A Specific geometric feature on the Earth's surface. Dunes: A sand hill. Delta: A nearly flat plain of deposit between different branches of a river, often, though not always, triangular. glaciers: A large mass of ice made by snow falling and gathering over years and moves very slowly. |
EXPLANATION
There are different types of landforms on this planet. Although not all are shown in every state/area, they are on different parts of the earth. Standard SC.6.E.6.2 talks about different kinds.
